The 2015 vintage is brooding with deep red fruit and strawberry preserves. There is a subtle oak spice, while the palate floods with fresh red fruit and delicate acidity. It has well structured, age worthy tannins that are well balanced with a smooth, round mouthfeel. It will improve upon release to 12 months and continute to drink well for 8-10 years if cellared properly.
The vines are double guyot cane pruned for small berries, clusters and lower yields. The 2015 vintage endured the continuing drought and still, the ideal weather—dry and temperate with few heat spikes—mde for hastened yet predictable growing events. Harvest was the exact same day as the year before, September 4th, with beautifully ripened fruit ready to pick.
Native yeast and native malolacitc methods were employed. The wine was aged for 18 months in 40% New French Oak from Francois Freres in Burgundy. The finsuhed wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered in March after 18 months in barrel.
