2019 THE BARBER Cabernet Sauvignon
Single Barrel Reserve
OUR STORY
The Renteria family story begins with a twenty three year old Barber, Salvador Renteria who first came to the U.S on August 29th of 1962 to follow his older brother up North to a little known city called Rutherford in the Napa Valley. At first Salvador was not a fan of working long hours in the sun as a farmer but later became obsessed with nurturing vineyards to produce the highest quality fruit possible. After a few years of learning the soils and weather of the Napa Valley Salvador became a farming force and earned the respect of many vitners including Peter Newton, Andre Tchelistcheff, Rick Forman, Robert Mondavi and Justin Meyer. In 1987 Salvador started Renteria Vineyard Management which is now ran by his son Oscar who today manages well over 2000 acres of Vineyards in the Napa Valley.
OUR WINE
The pursuit of perfection is all in the details. This single barrel, single vineyard, wine is made in an extremely limited quantity in honor of our Patriarch, Salvador Renteria who dedicated most of his life to improving the quality of many vineyards in the Valley. This wine shows incredible depth with aromas of blackberries, black cherries, roasted expresso and graphite.
CRAFTING
Through meticulous farming is how Salvador Renteria paved his name amongst the most respected farmers in the the Napa Valley. Now to celebrate The Barber we use only the best barrel to produce just 300 bottles of this extremely rare wine.
