The Stice Vineyard is located in the heart of the Valley in St. Helena, where its content is high in gravelly loam soil within the valley floor. It is very well drained and rich in nutrients. The Rowe Vineyard is located on a hillside, facing East, providing a long ripening window with long hang time. It contains pleasant loan and silt soils that help to retain a high acidity and it is well drained. The 2014 vintage endured the continuing drought as well as the South Napa earthquake. Still, the ideal weather—dry and temperate with few heat spikes—made for hastened yet predictable growing events. Harvest was slightly earlier than usual with beautifully ripened fruit ready to pick in early September.
